Balloon Boy

Not THE balloon boy but MY balloon boy, hahahaha!!

The world today thinks that kids need electronic gizmos and battery sucking toys BUT they don’t. These balloons got a couple hours of nonstop play…until they popped!

Facebook and message boards…

I need to step away for awhile…. at least until spring. I am certain I will have less friends if I don’t.
I am TIRED of this H1N1 virus! It’s the freaking flu….panic and stress isn’t going to make it better and neither are my prayers(that is if I prayed). I can’t stand to hear people post that they have it…..last year they posted that they were sick or had the flu or had a virus…..why is that any different this year?
I am just so tired of hearing about the hype the media has created. If it wasn’t for the media these people would think they had the flu…..well, guess what? that is exactly what they have…a strain of the flu. If the swine flu kills more than 36,000 people by December 31st or hospitalizes more than 200,000 by December 31st…I apologize and please start freaking out, shoot your kids up with mass chemicals with many side effects and keep them from having a life until the snow melts. But keep in mind that there are only 43,677 laboratory-confirmed cases of swine flu, 5,009 hospitalizations and 302 deaths.Yes, we have 2 months to go but we aren’t nearly as close as every other year from the flu.

There, I said it!! SHUT UP ABOUT THE SWINE FLU!!!! You are sick, I am sorry..no extra sympathy from me because it’s the H1N1 strain over another. The media has poisoned your brain.

I do believe that Wy and T had H1N1…every symptom, they had it. Did I go on a posting frenzy about it? NO!!! Yes, I said they were sick, had fevers etc…Last year Wy had influenza B (lab tested positive) and never did I freak even though it’s just as deadly and Wy was even sicker than this year.

While i am it…those nikon D300 commercials piss me off…shut up nikon…you suck just because you make such moronic commercials!

You wouldn’t know it…

This shows just how hot it gets here. These crayons and colored pencils were stored inside the house on a shelf by a window. They did receive direct sunlight but STILL…they were inside.

Isn’t that wild? This summer seemed hotter than the summers before. I think this proves it was.

Just another Sunday

Go Fish on steroids and dirty feet….

The Nine Year Old Boy..

I know I must of talked about him before..I am sure of it. It had to be recently even. I refuse to go back and look so if I repeat myself, TOUGH!!
He is growing up and it’s me that is suffering from the growing pains..LET ME TELL YOU!!!

He has become such a hard headed opinionated boy…i almost wrote young man but there is nothing man about him right now. Not that there should be, right? It would be nice if he left his attitude out the door though. He seems to think it’s alright to hit his brothers and then claim it was accident, whatever…….that isn’t flying with me.

He also likes to bribe US, the parents, into letting him do things. He also pulls “if you don’t let me then I am going to turn your computer off”….oh boy….help me now.

He is my first 9 y/o boy so I am hoping to learn from this age and better prepare myself for the next two boys that will shortly follow. Because right now I am failing, sure of it. He claims I hate him and nobody loves him….self pity isn’t pretty on anyone….trying to teach him that.

I love gift cards…..

I love Mr. Fun more though…his gift card, my cd…this is where I stop so you can say “awwww”

Blowing Bubbles….

It’s not as easy to teach as I thought it would be…..
Have you taught someone to blow a bubble?
Can it be taught? Or is it something you just learn yourself?

It’s that time of year…

After school we ate our snack outside…then we did homework outside.
It was a beautiful afternoon.
I used the 20D and 85 1.8, possible my favorite combination ever.

Of course Wy refused to keep his shirt on….he was struggling so hard with that shirt. I laughed and refused to help. I had no problem taking pictures of his struggle though.

T did get a little bored because he has no homework and didn’t want to color outside….so he pouted a little.

G refused all photos until I fell off his scooter…..T and I were racing and my scooter hit a rock and I kept going. It hurt but what hurt worse was I heard my camera hit the pavement seconds after I did. I yelled out “my camera, oh shit”. My lens now is scraped but all else seems okay…we’ll test again tomorrow. G was kind enough to hold still long enough right after I fell for me to see if the camera would still click.

If I have lost my favorite lens I am going to cry big crocodile tears!!!

Penmanship…

Let’s talk about penmanship…..
My kids were doomed from birth. Mr. Fun and I do not have what I would call nice handwriting. We just don’t. I try but it never comes out neat. It’s always sloppy and never pretty.
It’s report card time in the Fun house. These pieces of paper always contain praise and positive marks. This year was different, I know…how dare those teachers!?!?!
The remarks left by the teachers were about penmanship…..Wy and G need to work on neatness. I laugh…I laugh at those teachers, big hearty belly laughs. I feel like writing back “yeah, don’t hold your breath, I won’t be”

These boys, one a lefty and one a righty, are going to have messy handwriting no matter how slow they write. It will remain barely legible most of the time no matter how much they practice.

I am not saying I don’t think it’s important…well, maybe I am. One of them is going to be a doctor so he needs to master the art of eligible writing. The other is too much like me and his brain writes faster than his hand. So what I am saying…..we can’t all have pretty handwriting and I don’t think we should lose points because of it.
