The Middle Man Strikes again…

I went to turn the lava lamp off before heading to bed..this is what I found.

I was cracking up. I am surprised this photo isn’t blurry due to me trying not to laugh and wake the boys.
He has thing with trying to look chubby. So earlier that night he had all his webkinz stuffed up his shirt, he came into the living room and said “see mom I am can be chubby”. LMAO!!!! When I went to tuck them in he still had these in his shirt. I never thought he could or would fall asleep like this. After snapping a quick picture I took all his obnoxious beloved webkinz out of his shirt. This morning the first thing he says to me is “who took them all out of my shirt?” as he is stuffing them back up his shirt.

The Season Begins

I had a blast last year helping coach the Yankees!  But the league lacks organization and didn’t reach out to the team or coaches from last year, so I didn’t sign Gman up…until the last minute I broke down.  He loves it, and I love helping out with the kids.  Come to find out they started the league late since they had a coaching shortage!  One phone call…oh well.  So in the end just one player from last year other than G is on the team…

They played a great game, for 1 practice!  Supposed to be pitching machine, but we broke down to coach pitch and we fared much better.  We played the Heat, which other than the obvious weather reference made little sense as a baseball team, where the others in the league are the Yanks, Cubs, Dbacks, etc…

Garrett got 2 hits and scored a couple runs in the win!!

All Four Huckleberries

After dinner I took the kids out to get a quick snap. I felt the urge to have a recent photo of all four together. Look at them. I feel I captured their souls here. Each one shining in their own way.

JJ is becoming such a young lady. She is into cooking and wants to take her SAT’s this year, just to see. How could you not love her? She wants to start babysitting more. Hopefully soon she’ll start getting calls.

G, he’s the sensitive good doer. He really enjoys helping everyone and anyone that needs it. He’s the serious one yet silly all at the same time. Homework is much harder on him this year. He struggles with it most days.

Wy is something special. He’s the one I struggle with the most. I truly believe if I could get inside is complicated brain we would be much better off. He seems to scream through books. Seems he’s not really  reading them but he answers all my questions right. He is still writing a lot of things backwards and reading numbers backwards. I feel very strongly that he needs to be tested for dyslexia.

T, who doesn’t love T? He’s the class clown. Always making us laugh, saying the silliest things. He is however growing up too fast. He is currently into armpit farts..thanks to the older boys. He is loving school and announces to everyone that will listen or not listen that he is in preschool.

Mondays…. So not a fan!

When T crawled in bed at 6:30 saying he was thirsty I was annoyed. Then at 7 when he declared he was hungry I threw off my covers stumbled to the kitchen and got him a granola bar. I climbed back in bed thinking it was still the weekend. At 7:10 when Wy crawled under the covers asking to watch TV, I then realized the answer had to be no because they had to get ready for school. Finally after 10 minutes of snuggles and sweet conversation I peeled myself out of bed to start breakfast. I was only 20 minutes behind. Luckily the morning went smooth and we were out the door right on time. I do wish I could of stayed in bed a bit longer enjoying a conversation with my boys.
There is going to come a day where its me at the foot of their bed trying to get them out of bed for school. So for now I plan to soak up the morning snuggles, the stories about their dreams and their sweet smell of innocence.

His HAIR!!

When the boys were young(you know because they are so old now, lol) they always had their hair really short..shaved. I always said that no boy of mine would have long hair. Sticking my foot in my mouth now. His hair is getting so long. We cut two inches off in July and I think it grew faster after that. He says he’s never going to cut it, I don’t think he should. His hair is so awesome. JJ complains because she wishes she had his hair..isn’t that how it usually works. Same with eyelashes, seems the boys get the long beautiful lashes.

I wonder why they don’t sleep through the night????

Mr. Fun and G went to the ballgame last night so G went to bed much later then the other two. G came back out of the room and said we had to see how Wy was sleeping. CRAZY!!!! Amazing that he could even sleep like that. My guess is he fell asleep like this fighting sleep.

I don’t want to go to school….

T did not want to go to school today. I think separation anxiety is setting in. As a mom it broke my heart to leave him looking so sad. I wanted to scoop him up love him and take him to the park. The daycare provider in me knows it’s best to leave him and let him know it is fine, I will be there when it’s time to go home.
At pick up he was all smiles. He also had the snack basket and share bag to bring home. I am guessing he’ll want to go to school Thursday. If not I got great incentives now.

As you can see he had a great day. This was taken as we were taking about his day. I asked him what he was going to put in his share bag to share with his friends. Right now its a toss up between his webkin, hot wheel racecar and a star wars little guy. He can only bring one and he’s changed his mind about 5 times already. So the verdict is still out. I’m guessing it won’t any of the three things he talked about.

For the LOVE of BOOKS!!!

I don’t buy books often. I really wish I bought more of them. I never understand why I refrain from buying books. You can never have too many books, right?

well, I think I know why I stopped buying books….we have so many. Not too many but so many. I got totally frustrated tonight. I ended up throwing all the books on the ground. I called the boys and told them to organize and clean up. I even made a sad cracking the whip sound at them. I should stick to snapping my fingers or clapping my hands.
With my direction they had it done pretty quickly…and I had them in bed before they had time to mess it up again.

I also went through them and got rid of some. For example…. the potty training book, won’t need that again. Another one about bringing baby home, won’t be doing that again. So now I need to start buying more age appropriate books for the two older boys.

It’s the little things.

My mom left M&M’s for the kids for an after school treat. With those packages of M&M’s she left them all their own notes. They LOVED it, made that treat so much more than just a treat.
Grandma had to go back home today and for the first time since moving here I was sad. Usually her leaving doesn’t bother me for I know she’ll be back. We’ve lived here 4 years and shes come at least 7 times a year, every year… No doubt she’ll be back soon. That didn’t stop my sadness though.

He didn’t puke!!!!

T has a very high sensitivity to textures. Sometimes looking at the wrong texture makes him gag and if you don’t see him gagging it leads to him puking. Ridiculous, I know. It’s become a normalcy for our family.
Mr. Fun and I are quick to react in restaurants, pretty sure there’s not a restaurant he hasn’t puked in.
As he grows I stress about it more. I keep saying it’s something he’ll grow out but as time goes on I doubt he will. Friends say he should see a specialist, I agree. Making an appointment to see the doctor is on my list, I swear it is. I fear that they’ll think I’m crazy and paranoid. I am so the opposite, well maybe a little crazy.
so on to why I am posting this….. He ate something new last night……

Yes, it was covered in ketchup, organic ketchup, that’s just fine with me.
After a few bites I tried to sneak a ketchup covered potato in his mouth..he gagged and was done with dinner after that :(
BUT HE ATE MEAT!!! that wasn’t a chicken nugget!
