So proud of this boy!! Nothing and I mean NOTHING gets passed him. He is on it!! There may not be any left handed catchers in the big league but things change.
g catching
They say that if you are left handed and have a strong enough arm to be catcher, you pitch….He doesn’t want to pitch.
He wants to leave that to his teammates.
nate

We didn’t win it all but we came out winners and the coach made sure those boys knew it….
after game

The batboy even had a great time..isn’t he cute out there?

After dinner it was off to the The Big Bang Bar AWESOME place!!!

I can’t wait to go back. I don’t think I would enjoy it as much if it was a crowded weekend night though. The crowd wasn’t over whelming yet there was plenty of people to keep the fun going. And the drinks were good, no wussy margaritas!!! You aren’t allowed to video the stage…not sure why, seems stupid! I took this video before I knew about this rule. I was caught during my third recording so I put the camera away.

So who wants to join us next time?

Past time..

or hobby….whatever you call it. Photography has always been a big part of our lives. It seems running is starting to catch on as well. We bought some new running shoes and plan to at least do 5K in the spring. I hope I survive!! I wasn’t born a runner but have always wanted to be.I run but never run for miles at a time. I guess you could say it’s on my bucket list. Maybe I’ll create a real bucket list and share.

The shot I was setting up from the photo above.

Luckily Wy has bird bones and is still light enough to swing around.

stay tuned for tomorrow a special someone is turning five.

Volunteering at The Weldon House

Proud that my family can give for no other reason than giving.

Proud to say Mr. Fun works for a company that gives so much back to the community.
It makes me happy that JJ wants to do this and that she has friends that want to tag along.
Makes me pause and think that maybe, just maybe, I am doing something right when it comes to this parenting job I have acquired. Then I look down and Wy is at my feet kicking the desk screaming how long as he pulls on my left arm. That is right, typing one handed isn’t only a talent I posses but a necessity. This talent that I have also acquired makes me think I am sucking it up at this parenting gig. The future will tell….

Giggles and Noodles!!

We were sitting around the table. Enjoying a dinner of leftover chinese food from lunch. T was next to Mr. Fun. We don’t always sit in the same chairs at dinner time, it’s like musical chairs with us. T was eating his noodles with chopsticks. As much as he wanted to be annoyed by the sounds coming from T’s lips with every noodle he couldn’t. After every noodle there was giggles. T was getting a kick out of picking up one noodle at a time with these chopsticks and then slurping it up. Soon enough T decided it was taking too long so he started grabbing more noodles at a time and you guessed it, the slurping got louder and messier. I said to Mr. Fun You’re only 4 once… He smiled while looking at T’s bright eyes and big smile and agreed. So there it was we ate dinner with the soundtrack of a noodle slurpin, giggly four year old. AND lets face it…he was eating something other than a granola or cereal bar.
After we all ate enough to get a cookie, we eagerly opened our cookies, breaking them to reveal our fortunes.
Mr. Fun’s fortune is below!

Isn’t that fitting?

Mr. Fun turns 33….

This means JJ will be 13 in a few days. YIPES!
As each year passes I think, dang we are too young to be to this old. He’s younger than I am…by two years. So as he turns 33…I have a month left to be 34. I might as well be 40, right? JJ says “MOM, YOU ARE NOT 40….yet”
I did get carded today buying adult beverages for our little celebration tonight. I blame it on the frizzy hair and no make-up….

YEP, I made Mr. Fun’s birthday post about me….I went there….I guess I should get back to the reason of today.

Happy Birthday Mr. Fun!!! I hope despite all the struggles of today it’s a good day for you. I love you and thanks for being you. You rock my world.

The Attentive Wife….

Those were the words that came out of Mr. Fun’s mouth with a grin this afternoon. I muttered back “don’t get used to it”.
If there is one thing you should know about me it is that I do not cater. Every once in a while I might get it in me and bend over backwards for someone, say on Father’s Day. He did help me through 4 high risk pregnancies and he did actually deliver our youngest. That is one thing I tend to forget about, I wish I wouldn’t though. I am very grateful for his love and support.
This also makes me remember when I went to my first ultrasound when I was pregnant with Wy. He couldn’t go because of work. I did stop by before picking up G from my mother in law’s. I had the print that showed the baby and the yolk sac. The doctor said it would look like twins to the untrained eyes. So I told Mr. Fun it was twins and showed him the photo….i swear for the 30 seconds I could keep a straight face about it he went stark white. Luckily he forgives easily.
So here is to Mr. Fun….The daddy that I always wished my kids would have :)

It will tell the reasons I love and appreciate him more than my words could.
Happy Father’s Day Mr. Fun. Thank you for being you!

It takes a village

or a community….

Mr. Fun has a co-worker, she went into labor with her fist child and during what is supposed to have a joyful outcome didn’t end with complete joy. It ended with sorrow..she had a seizure and died. Her baby, which they named Cash, survived. Yesterday Kohls and the city of Peoria pulled out the stops and raised two grand for baby Cash and his family.

We were all supposed to go out and help but JJ came down with some nasty virus that kept her in bed all day. So Mr. Fun took the two older boys while T and I hung out at home with JJ. She wasn’t much fun, she slept most the day.
I am very proud of these boys even though they don’t quite grasp what they did. To them they were just washing cars, the cop car being the most fun. They don’t quite grasp that there is a baby that lost his mommy. One day they look back and know.

Thank you to all that donated and helped out at 83rd Ave and Union Hills…

Vegas…. baby!!! Part ONE!

Mr. Fun and I went to Vegas to meet up with friends. Friday night we had a party at Leah’s house. We were best friends in 7th and 8th grade. We were always together and always laughing. I hadn’t talked to some of these girls since 8th grade and others our senior year. Nothing has changed, i think we all think we are all still teenagers but with mortgages and kids.

It was seriously the most fun I have had in a long time. It felt so good to go back. There were shots involved..which I did not take part in. Mr. Fun however loved him some jager and was cursing the jager the next morning when we had a 10 am photo shoot…. But doesn’t he look sexy with that shot glass?

Mr. Fun and Marcy had a conspiracy theory about the dog and the food…. good times. Yes, the dog was stealing food off the counter and some ate the food after that but I am not naming names….I am nice like that.

After all these years they still got my back….i go down they all go down.

It wasn’t whipped cream….

I don’t want to go!! was heard several times throughout the morning. T was having too much fun playing out back, watching bits of Star Wars and playing little guys with his brothers.
I told him he would regret it and showed him photos of Wy and daddy at Dad’s Day. Told him they would have so much fun. He still wasn’t buying it. Just at this moment Wy walked in from outside. I asked Wy to help us out and tell him how fun Dad’s Day was….. Wy so stepped up. He told T all about Dad’s Day and how he got to shave dads face and dad got to shave his face with WHIPPED CREAM!!(i knew this wasn’t true but i kept my mouth shut like any smart mom would) That got T running to the shower to join dad so he could go to Dad’s Day!!!

When they arrived back home T brought presents for his brothers. A deflated balloon for Wy and toilet paper roll binoculars for hunting dragons. Mr. Fun came through the door wearing the best tie ever.

I mean really…..look at that thing….it’s full of love and personality.

My favorite part of these events is what our kids have to say about us.

As T and I continued to talk about all he did he blurts out AND IT WASN’T WHIPPED CREAM! YOU COULDN’T EAT IT So i said that it must have been shaving cream and he simply nodded and moved on.
