Feeling grateful…
Gummy bears and skittles….
A clean house, which I don’t have today.
My boys, they are fun. Yes, they are a bit much but man, they are so funny.

Tank tops.
Starbucks scones, no others come close!

I LOVE LOVE LOVE the video feature on my camera!!!

Struggles..

But Misti, you’re wonderful. Clearly all those hardships (while I wish you had never had to deal with any of that) only made you stronger and even more of a fantastic person.

You really are an amazing mom, I *honestly* check out how you handle things before doing it myself. B/c you can combine being fun/crazy/carefree with being healthy, safe and age-appropriate, and I love that.

This came from a friend…a friend I hope to meet one day. I know that sounds weird but I have so many online friends that are just that, FRIENDS! I trust them, I can tell them anything and not feel judged. I hope they feel the same …..
I am not perfect, my kids are not perfect….my marriage is not perfect….BUT!!! We are happy! So happy! Even when Wy is a butt….this kid…every single day is a butt at one point. I really want to start capturing more of him. He argues everything…makes up stuff just to argue..

He is my box of chocolates and I love him.

Middle man turns 8!!!

My crazy, hair pulling, sweet, tantrum throwing, loving, handsome middle man turned eight.
It really seems like yesterday that I brought him home to our tiny house in San Diego. I had no idea that Quiet Wyatt would soon become the child that made me question this parenting gig.

He’s smart and funny and giving and has the biggest heart!! He also has a mean and selfish side to him when he gets mad. I sometimes wish he didn’t have a temper but that temper comes from being so logical and “because I said” isn’t enough of a reason for him. He needs a logical reason as to why he can’t play xbox or eat ice cream. And I wouldn’t change that….(okay, maybe I would ) Happy 8th Birthday Dub!!!! You bring us so much joy and happiness.

I hope that that this year brings many happy moments and memories you will carry for life.

The rain held out…

There I was at practice, G on the east field and T on the west field, freezing my butt off. It was 57 degrees and the wind was howling. The dark clouds were surrounding us, threatening rain.
I kept thinking that Wy’s games was going to be canceled. I was certain we would get through practice and the rain would start, canceling Wy’s game. I was wrong…and though I was freezing and eating too many sunflower seeds I was happy it held off.
catcher2
Wy has been saying he wants to play catcher and tonight coach let him. I was nervous for him, I am always nervous when they are up to bat or playing infield. Wy once again proved my nervousness to be a silly hang up. He did great as catcher. He needs to get better at throwing his mask off and being ready for the ball after it’s hit but he did an awesome job for it being his first time.
catcher

The rain started coming down just as the last batter was up at the plate, perfect timing.

Another Saturday

We had games at Noon, 4 and 5. G’s coach had to pick him up at one field to take him to his game. We hung backed and watched Wy play. Well, I did with JJ and T, Mr. Fun helped coach. After Wy’s game where he got two big hits, drove in a couple runs and got tagged out at 3rd we quickly headed up to G’s game. Mr. Fun changed from one coaching shirt and hat to the next and I dropped him off before parking. As we were getting out of the car I see Mr. Fun running back to the car yelling something. As he got closer I heard “DOES DUB STILL HAVE HIS CLEATS ON?” I yelled back “YES WHY?”
Coach wants him to play, SAY WHAT?
boys 2-13
Wy got to play up that night. G’s team was short one player and he filled in. He struck out both at bats and he didn’t get any action in the right field but he stepped up.
boys 3-13
He really didn’t want to do it but he hustled and I was so proud. I asked G is it was weird to have his little brother out there with him and he said no. That made me proud of him.

Past time..

or hobby….whatever you call it. Photography has always been a big part of our lives. It seems running is starting to catch on as well. We bought some new running shoes and plan to at least do 5K in the spring. I hope I survive!! I wasn’t born a runner but have always wanted to be.I run but never run for miles at a time. I guess you could say it’s on my bucket list. Maybe I’ll create a real bucket list and share.

The shot I was setting up from the photo above.

Luckily Wy has bird bones and is still light enough to swing around.

stay tuned for tomorrow a special someone is turning five.

Blowing Bubbles….

It’s not as easy to teach as I thought it would be…..
Have you taught someone to blow a bubble?
Can it be taught? Or is it something you just learn yourself?

Penmanship…

Let’s talk about penmanship…..
My kids were doomed from birth. Mr. Fun and I do not have what I would call nice handwriting. We just don’t. I try but it never comes out neat. It’s always sloppy and never pretty.
It’s report card time in the Fun house. These pieces of paper always contain praise and positive marks. This year was different, I know…how dare those teachers!?!?!
The remarks left by the teachers were about penmanship…..Wy and G need to work on neatness. I laugh…I laugh at those teachers, big hearty belly laughs. I feel like writing back “yeah, don’t hold your breath, I won’t be”

These boys, one a lefty and one a righty, are going to have messy handwriting no matter how slow they write. It will remain barely legible most of the time no matter how much they practice.

I am not saying I don’t think it’s important…well, maybe I am. One of them is going to be a doctor so he needs to master the art of eligible writing. The other is too much like me and his brain writes faster than his hand. So what I am saying…..we can’t all have pretty handwriting and I don’t think we should lose points because of it.

Not too short…too short….

Wy did not go as short as I wanted…i wanted him to go above the ear. He didn’t…NOTHING I said had him even thinking about changing his mind. 2 inches is all he would go.

There you have it…before and after. Maybe his next cut will above the ears, but not until he grows it to the middle of his back again.

Then there’s JJ, she went with us…cut her hair shorter than I wanted her too…

What is up with these kids having their own opinions about their hair anyways?
I have always said that I would allow my kids to express themselves as long as it was age appropriate. So far it’s going well. So far I haven’t been asked for anything like tats or piercings……oh wait my oldest is 13…LET’S HOPE NOT!! Right? I know there will come a day when they want to do something I TOTALLY disagree with. I hope I handle it well. I don’t want to be one of those “because i said so” parents….oh wait..i already say that.

See this

It will be no more….so look close!! Look long…..it is about to disappear!!!
