When you are 3 years old, you know who you are and you know what you DON’T want to do. I know, as a parent, it can be frustrating. All you want is that perfect smile. As an artist, I try to remind parents that this is the way they are….if they chose not to smile, it’s okay. If they chose to run away for a moment, that is okay too.

Photography isn’t always about that perfect smile. It is also about capturing the true them, the 3 year old that is stubborn or silly and most likely both. It’s about looking back and saying “oh I remember that day, he did not want to sit” or “oh yes, he had to hold that toy”. Those are the little things you tend to forget if you didn’t have a photo to look back on.
As they get older it does get easier and they are more willing to cooperate. I am not saying they always will but it’s easier.

What is important is that they are comfortable enough to be themselves and let their own individual personalities shine through in a group of peers.
Sneak peek of these two teams will be up by tomorrow…so stay tuned.
