Let me explain….. Phoenix Photographer

When you are 3 years old, you know who you are and you know what you DON’T want to do. I know, as a parent, it can be frustrating. All you want is that perfect smile. As an artist, I try to remind parents that this is the way they are….if they chose not to smile, it’s okay. If they chose to run away for a moment, that is okay too.

Photography isn’t always about that perfect smile. It is also about capturing the true them, the 3 year old that is stubborn or silly and most likely both. It’s about looking back and saying “oh I remember that day, he did not want to sit” or “oh yes, he had to hold that toy”. Those are the little things you tend to forget if you didn’t have a photo to look back on.
As they get older it does get easier and they are more willing to cooperate. I am not saying they always will but it’s easier.

What is important is that they are comfortable enough to be themselves and let their own individual personalities shine through in a group of peers.

Sneak peek of these two teams will be up by tomorrow…so stay tuned.

The things that make it worth it…. Phoenix Photographer

I have to be honest and say I struggle with my photography. Not with making it what I want or bringing my image to life. It is knowing if people see the words the photos write. When I click the shutter that is not all I am doing. I am capturing a moment, a memory….I am capturing the spirit and love….I am capturing the bond between friends, lovers, family….I am capturing a time in life that I hope to help my clients and family remember years from now. My photography is the art of my soul, it comes from my heart. When I process a photo I process it with feeling and love…I put my heart behind every photo.
Today I received a comment that had me on cloud nine.

May I please butt in here… Guess I already did.

This shot is not just a couple of people you shot. This is a capture of love. Like you caught the essence of friendship bound by blood. I see that throughout your stream and website, but particularly in this photo. Excellent work.

It made me realize my art is being seen and viewed the way I hoped it would. It’s not about a perfect smile or eye contact. It’s about the feeling of the moment. It’s about remembering how small the kids were, it’s about remembering and seeing young true love. It’s about looking at a photo 15 years from now and hearing the laughter again… Photography is art….
Now I want to share some favorite photos of my family…..photos that make me want to preserve memories for other families.

With the heat coming up on us quick I encourage you to book a session today.

Sweet Little Princess!!!

This is a shout out to my dear friend Leah……and her sweet little princess.

She is so cute and loves the camera so I just had to share these quick snaps I took.

I had a great time last weekend and I will be back soon. Next time I’ll shoot the band and get them a rockin’ CD cover.
For now I leave you with the girl that says she’ll never kiss a frog.
